We have been preparing students for general and academic English since 1993. After studying at ETC many of our students have successfully completed their academic studies in business, computing, science, and other subjects at New Zealand, Australian and around the world.
Our current roll is over 300 full-time students from 35 different countries on our 3 campuses in Wellington, Lower Hutt and Palmerston North.
Students can usually start any Monday during the year and can select the number of weeks they study. Full-time study is from 9 am to 3 pm Monday to Friday. School activities are usually included in the school fees (A small fee may be charged for optional trips or activities)
What I especially like at ETC is the openness and the interest of the teachers and the international and multicultural atmosphere. You get easily into contact with other students from other classes during lunch break and you don’t have any trouble to make new friends. Because the majority of the students come from Asia, you will get impressions from many different cultures and English as our common language connects us.
I would particularly recommend the demi-pair programme to curious, open and adaptable young people. It’s important to know that New Zealand is not Europe and the Kiwis have their very unique but amiable way to live.
Students should be aware, that the first one or two weeks can be quite hard, however, you can be certain that the school and the family will give their very best to help you settle in on the other side of the world.
What makes New Zealand to the perfect travel destination is not just the studies of the English language, it is also the breathtaking scenery, the unbelievably relaxed manner and warmth of the Kiwis, which fascinate me as a German every day again.

My name is Ahmed, I am from Saudi Arabia (Jeddah). I have been studying at ETC for more than three months. Thanks to the great teaching methods and teachers in this college, I achieved a high level of English. ETC has offered me the opportunity to meet students of many nationalities and I have made many friends and have enjoyed spending my time with them, not to mention all the trips and events ETC has organized for us. It was an absolutely wonderful experience. I am really glad that I had the chance to study English at ETC. Thank you!
